Liberty Horsemanship based in Santa Cruz, California

In my work with horses, I have come to find that horses respond to clarity, and clarity only comes when we stop forcing and start allowing. The moment we push, brace, or insist, something closes, and we create even more resistance. When we soften, something opens.

Horses are incredibly sensitive to energy. They can feel even the slightest shift. By simply observing them, how they interact with one another, how they resolve conflict without holding onto it, and how they naturally return to harmony, we begin to remember something essential within ourselves. Their instinct is not to cling to tension but to restore balance, to rest, and to move forward. They are deeply grounded, fully present, and profoundly connected to the natural world. In their quiet wisdom, horses become extraordinary teachers, showing us how to meet life with greater presence, trust, and an ever returning path back to harmony.

What makes Magical Horsemanship Different?

At Magical Horsemanship, we believe horses are more than teachers. But that they are also partners in a community built on collaboration, connection, and belonging.

Like a herd, our community is built on shared wisdom. Everyone is both a teacher and a student, and every horse, every person, and every experience has something meaningful to offer. Through curiosity, presence, and deep listening, we grow together.

The wisdom of the herd reminds us that true leadership is not about control, but about trust, awareness, and collaboration. Nature becomes part of the classroom as well. The birds, the trees, the changing seasons, and the world around us invite us to slow down, observe, and discover the invisible connections that unite all living beings.

Here, people are welcomed exactly as they are. It is a place to feel seen, valued, and supported—a place where meaningful relationships with horses, with others, and with yourself can naturally unfold.

“Success is not measured by how far we climb, but by how deeply we are rooted. Like the trees, we grow by staying connected to what nourishes us. Like the horse, we find freedom when we live true to our nature. I believe a successful life is one lived in presence, with meaningful connections, an open heart, and the courage to follow what makes us feel alive.” - Eva Jones
